The Medical Science Liaison propagates thought leaders in academic and clinical medicine. S/he will manage field activities that introduce new products to the market and expand the market for existing products. 


The MSL provides research results and medical treatment concepts to physicians and medical personnel affiliated with key institutions and facilitates the use of the Company’s medical and education services. S/he is responsible for developing creative and innovative strategies for addressing the specific needs of key customers

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and advocate to increase awareness about the Company’s products.
  • Increase company and product awareness on new advances in the management of diseases through treatments/therapies.
  • Facilitate Key Opinion Leader development and communication regarding ongoing and future pivotal and investigator-initiated clinical trials.
  • Develop product education materials for use by Company employees.
  • Identify appropriate clinical trial sites and work collaboratively with Clinical Operations.
  • Facilitate and moderate scientific peer discussions, including advisory panels, investigator meetings, and education programs.
  • Arrange or conduct educational programs in assigned territory.
  • Develop Key Opinion Leaders to participate in the Company’s speaker bureau for regional or national educational programs.
  • Attend regional and national medical conferences to enhance company and product awareness.
  • Collect competitive intelligence and analyze data.

Qualifications (Education & Experience)

  • Advanced degree in medical science (MD, PharmD, PhD, NP or PA).
  • 3-5 years of MSL experience is required.
  • Previous MSL experience in the related therapeutic area preferred.
  • Ability to efficiently manage time and priorities within the territory.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and to establish trust through the consistent demonstration of scientific expertise.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to compile and disseminate information to others in a cohesive fashion to assure a clear understanding of project status and direction.
  • Solid understanding of drug development and lifecycle development of a product.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 70% of the time in the field).
